Sacramento County Sheriff Jim Cooper endorses Phil Pluckebaum for City Council

Sacramento, CA – Today, Sacramento County Sheriff Jim Cooper announced his endorsement of Phil Pluckebaum for City Council. 

Sheriff Cooper, in announcing his endorsement, said, “I proudly support Phil Pluckebaum for Sacramento City Council District 4. In this critical period where ensuring public safety takes precedence, Sacramento calls for leaders equipped with a forward-thinking approach to tackle violent crime and rampant retail theft, blending empathy with responsibility.

I firmly believe that Phil possesses the dedication to elevate public safety measures, reduce response times, and fortify the security of our communities. His innovative perspectives promise fresh solutions aimed at enhancing the overall well-being of every resident in Sacramento.”

Sheriff Cooper is in his first term as County Sheriff. He previously served four terms in the State Assembly and 15 years with the city of Elk Grove as Mayor and City Councilmember. He is a 30 year veteran of law enforcement. 

A long time City of Sacramento resident, Phil brings eight years of experience from his work on the city’s Planning and Design Commission. His active involvement in numerous local civic organizations and dedication to volunteer work shows his deep commitment to the city’s progress. Phil is a project manager for UC Davis Health, where he has a proven track record of bringing stakeholders to the table to solve complex problems and keep projects on track.
